Background

Before becoming a financial planner, I spent eight years serving in the Royal Marines.

That experience shaped how I think about responsibility, preparation, and decision-making under uncertainty. It also gave me a deep respect for calm, structured thinking when the stakes matter.

I moved into financial planning in 2016 and have worked with hundreds of clients across retirement, investment, and later-life planning. Over time, I became increasingly uncomfortable with the volume-driven, product-led nature of much of the industry.

Too many people were holding him back not because they like resources, but because they were unsure how to enjoy life without the fear of getting it wrong.

Why I built Wealth Transfer Specialist

Wealth Transfer Specialist was created to solve a specific problem I kept seeing.

Successful people approaching or in retirement often have “enough”, but still feel unsure.

Unsure about spending.

Unsure about helping family.

Unsure about timing, tax, and irreversible decisions.

Over time, those decisions start to feel heavier.

Wealth Transfer Specialist exists to simplify that complexity and replace it with structure, perspective, and confidence.

The focus is not on chasing returns or reacting to headlines, but on aligning money with life, family, and long-term priorities.

How I approach financial planning

I work with a small number of clients so relationships stay personal and considered.

Planning starts with life, not products.

Decisions matter more than predictions.

Clarity matters more than constant activity.

The aim is not to optimise every variable, but to help people feel steady, informed, and in control of the decisions that genuinely matter to them.

Most of my clients value calm thinking, plain English, and a long-term view.

Outside of advice

Outside of client work, I value time that is deliberately unstructured and away from noise. Being outdoors, walking, and reading give me the space to think clearly and keep perspective.

I’m drawn to simplicity, not because life is simple, but because clarity makes better decisions possible. That way of thinking shapes how I live day to day and how I show up in my work with clients.

I prefer depth over pace, and calm judgement over constant activity. Those values tend to matter most when conversations are serious and decisions are irreversible.
